At the urging of @AmandaNMarsh and @7thWoman, I've managed to secure a location for a Social Media Day LITweetUP event. As of right now, this is the only Mashable Meetup planned for Long Island; everyone is welcome, even if you've never heard of LITweetUP before now.
John Scheine of The Business Corners (Long Island's first ever permanent coworking space) has offered to host us on Thursday evening. I'm on the lookout for a Pizza or take-out food sponsor so get in touch if you know any businesses in the area that would like to have the gratitude of some very influential Long Islanders.
This is going to be a last minute, old-school style LITweetUP: great people, great discussion, great time. Among the topics for discussion will be:
- Social Media Camp 2011, when and where
- 140confLI and the great community that's grown around that
- To TEDx or not to TEDx, that is the question
- The Google + Project, awesome or Google Wave, the Sequel
The plan is to kick off at about 6:30pm. The address is 200 Motor Parkway, Suite B13, Hauppauge, NY 11788.
I know the fact that it's last minute keeps many of you from being able to make it, but don't worry, I already have another 1 or 2 planned; the next one's going to be about Idea Sex (for those who have been asking, this is not a sexual topic, sorry to disappoint, lol) ...
If you can make it, awesome!! To be honest I do miss so many of you and I was looking for any excuse to get together :)
If you can't make it, know you'll be missed and we'll see you next time.
